Where does RDS (MariaDB) store its (audit) log files

The audit logs are stored on the same data volume with the rest of the database. However the logs are set to auto rotate and you can control the maximum size of disk utilized by the logs. There is also io necessary to write to the logs so there is a measurable amount of resources necessary to write the audit logs.
