I understand you're concerned about AWS charges and want to stop incurring costs. Here's what you need to do:

To stop AWS charges:

  1. Terminate all running resources - Even if you're not using the console, resources like EC2 instances, RDS databases, S3 buckets with data, EBS volumes, Elastic IPs, and other services continue to generate charges if they're still active.

  2. Close your AWS account - To completely stop all charges, you'll need to close your AWS account. You can do this by:

  • Signing into the AWS Management Console
  • Going to Account Settings
  • Following the account closure process
  1. Review your current bill - Check your AWS Billing Dashboard to see exactly which services are generating charges so you can terminate them.

Important notes:

  • Simply not using the console doesn't stop charges - resources must be actively deleted or terminated
  • Some services charge for storage, data transfer, or simply having resources provisioned, even if you're not actively using them
  • You're responsible for charges incurred until resources are terminated and your account is closed

I recommend logging into your AWS account immediately to identify and terminate all active resources, then proceed with account closure if you no longer wish to use AWS. If you need help identifying what's causing charges, check your Cost Explorer or billing dashboard.
