This issue where AWS Blu Insights doesn't open from the AWS Mainframe Modernization console (with the tab closing immediately) is typically caused by insufficient permissions for your IAM role.
Based on the error message "The AWS Access Key Id needs a subscription for the service," it appears you don't have the necessary permissions to access the AWS Mainframe Modernization service or Blu Insights.
To resolve this issue:
-
You need to ensure your IAM role has the appropriate permissions to access Blu Insights. Specifically, your role should have a policy that includes the "m2:GetSignedBluinsightsUrl" action.
-
Have your AWS administrator attach the necessary IAM policy to your role to allow access to Blu Insights.
-
If you're using SSO to access the account, make sure your user has been properly assigned permissions to access the AWS Mainframe Modernization service and that your user has been correctly assigned to the account in IAM Identity Center.
-
If you continue to experience issues after permissions are updated, try clearing your browser cache before accessing AWS Blu Insights again, as Blu Insights publishes updates regularly which might cause display issues.
If the problem persists after these steps, you may need to contact AWS Support for further assistance.
