Amazon database migration service can use Binary reader method to mine the logs. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/dms/latest/userguide/CHAP_Source.Oracle.html#CHAP_Source.Oracle.CDC
Sorry for the rant
I just hope that AWS tech could weight on this question and make a clear statement, specially in the docs. It does really makes me feel uncomfortable using DMS for Oracle as source. Given some market strategies from Oracle which punishes you when unkownly accessing some features, the DMS docs should state this clearly what is required or not. I have been using DMS on many other places which are doing fine and can afford binary replication with EE.
Thankfully, there is Debezium, which clearly doesnt require a EE / GoldenGate license , using Logminer and not using continuous_mine. Given its open source strategy, it seems much flexible in options.
