Hi,
As a quick solution you can always sign-in via the Chime Web Application found here: https://app.chime.aws/
If you do not want to use the web application, or prefer the desktop application please continue reading.
Please note, this will not uninstall Amazon Chime, but will delete all the user data.
Removing Chime AppData folder in Windows
I am unsure which operating system you are using, or how the identity in Chime is setup (SSO, AD, etc) but we can start with the basics and see if that works for you.
I will explain how to remove the chime folder within the AppData folder in Windows. This would effectively delete any file that may be causing the behavior you are experiencing with Chime.
Close Chime
Locate for the system tray in the bottom-right of the screen by the clock. There may be an arrow pointing up to the right of the clock to expand your running applications.
After you have located the system tray, locate the icon for Chime. It will resemble a miniature blue fan, or snowflake.
Right-click it, then select 'Quit'
Close remaining Chime processes
In Windows, press CTRL ALT DEL to bring up the security options and select 'Task Manager'.
Alternatively, you can right-click a blank area in the taskbar at the bottom of you screen and select 'Task Manager' from that list.
Once opened, Task Manager will show you a 'processes' tab at the top. Under Processes you will need to search for 'Amazon Chime'.
There may be multiple Amazon Chime processes running, close them all by right-clicking the process, and selecting 'End Task'.
Repeat for all Amazon Chime processes listed.
Locate Chime Folder in AppData
You will need to locate the Chime folder and delete it. This folder will be under 'AppData' on your computer.
Open 'My Computer' or 'This PC' from your desktop. If neither of those are listed open your start menu and start typing 'File Explorer'. Once it appears click on it to open.
Once File Explorer is open you will need to locate the address bar at the top. You will be able to type in this field. It will typically have 'Quick Access' or "This PC' already listed in the field.
Delete anything that is already in that address bar and type %appdata% then hit enter. It will bring you to the AppData folder under the currently logged in username.
Delete Amazon Chime Folder
Locate the Amazon Chime folder (for older versions just 'Chime' folder). Right-click and delete it.
If it does not let you delete it ensure you have ended all the Amazon Chime processes in the step describing how to 'Close remaining Chime processes'.
Reboot, then attempt to login again
Once the folder is deleted, reboot your computer and attempt to open Chime again. It should being you back to the login page.
