Quicksight - Using calculated field in visualizations

Hi, I have a very simple calculated field which is a ratio of 2 summed metrics, which I want to use in several visualizations. Other than the Table and Pivot visuals, every time I try to use the calculated field as a value (say in a horizontal bar chart) with one of the dimensions, I keep getting "Table calculation attribute reference(s) are missing in field wells". I am assuming I can't be expected to include the 2 metrics that are used in the calculated metric into the visual, correct? It is such a basic thing that I can't imagine there is no option to utilize a calculated metric in a simple bar chart. Any idea what I could be doing wrong?
