The number of available instances of selected AMI may be exhausted for the selected region. Try creating an instance of that image in a different region. You can also search for available AMIs by going to EC2 / Images / AMIs in the AWS Console. Your account may also have a limit on the number of Mac instances (which require a dedicated host) that can be launched.

The issue I’m running into is, in order to pass the task successfully, while meeting the CloudQuest requirements the instructions say that I need to provision my new instance in the same region as the first instance created (East 1) but in a separate AZ. I read the threads you linked but they don’t seem to have anything to do with the error message I received. I also tried selecting several different AMIs and received the same error message several times for any of the AMIs I chose!.. I made sure to check the dates of the versions I selected to make sure they were up to date. Any suggestions?
According to your screenshot above you are in Ohio (us-east-2) but your comment says you need to be creating your new instance in us-east-1 (N Virginia).
Might there be some mismatch here?
