[Amplify CLi ^7.0.0] How to access custom resources inside of amplify generated resources?

In my amplify project I have a custom resource as well as a generated API resource. I need to reference my custom resource inside of my generated API resource but there is no documentation on how to do this.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
