SLES 15 SP4 will make a High Availability

Dear AWS Community,

There are some questions from us as follows

  1. To configure HA (High Availability) on SLES, can you use regular SLES or does it have to be SLES for SAP Application?
  2. If you have to use SLES for SAP Application for HA, does that mean you have to setup from scratch again or do you have another way without having to reinstall the OS?

Hi Joan,

Yes is it, I plan to add 1 more EC2 for SAP PO/PI and make it HA. Can I use the latest SLES 15 SP or the latest SLES 15 SP for SAP applications?

Hi Azis,

Thanks for your reply. For instances that will be managed by a pacemaker cluster (SCS/ERS) they must be SLES for SAP due to the additional necessary libraries for the cluster. For more details, you can refer to the following SAP Note:
