Filezilla failed to retrieve bucket content

Hi all, Need to use Filezilla PRO to managed my backups to S3 but I am facing a wierd issue. FZ can correctly display all my buckets list but failed to retrieve its content, hence I can't upload anything to my buckets. This is the log of the process:

Hi Piero,

This is very probably due to the fact that you don't use FTP passive mode to interact with the FTP server.

  • Hi Didier, sorry, I made a mistake by clicking the "accept answare", actually I didn't know the use of it :) unfortunetely the issue is still present, I just added a comment where I show all the FZ settings as suggested but I keep getting the error : "The eu-south-1 location constraint is incompatible for the region specific endpoint this request was sent to."

Thank you, changing the host to " s3.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com " is not working, FZ with this host cannot even retrieve the bucket list. Log: Status: Retrieving directory listing... Status: Resolving address of s3.dualstack.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity Error: Failed to retrieve directory listing

Could you please clarify this suggestions: create a new configuration with s3.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com as host Where should I create this new configuration? Thank you :)

Hi Mike, I tried but I think I am not editing the field in a correct way.

I can see that there is already listed an "eu-south-1" with this setting: s3.dualstack.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com;s3.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com

I cannot select one of the region, it's just a list. So i tried editint the field to: s3.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com or s3.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com

even tried to change the format in the lower field from: s3.dualstack.{region}.amazonaws.com to s3.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com

no success, looks like FZ still sending request from a wrong endpoint settings list error log

eu-south-1 is a opt-in region. Some reconfiguration may be required

Can you go to your FileZilla S3 site configuration?

From How to Access S3

By default, FileZilla Pro will connect using the endpoint of the ** first configured region** in Edit › Settings › Transfers › S3: Providers. To customize this default behavior, utilize the Region field within the S3 tab. This change is crucial for accessing buckets in regions launched after March 20, 2019. In such regions, without the proper configuration, a request made from an incorrect region endpoint could result in a “Bad Request error” from S3.

Leave Host value as s3.amazonaws.com

  • Hi Mike, sorry for my delay replying to your msg. As suggested I removed all entries until the "eu-south-1" is the first entry, How ever FZ does not even connect now. So I re added the us-east-1 region on top of the list and it connects. Stilll no way to display buckets content:

@Mike, see from previous post by Piero that his system cannot reach s3.dualstack.eu-south-1.amazonaws.com. See this from tracert:

This address is already part of AWS. From there everything stops.

Thank you Didier for your qucik reply :), however Filezilla is already set as suggested but the issue is still there. Btw no firewall active As written, FZ can retrieve and display the bucket list almost immediatly but now way to see "inside" any buckets.

Hi Mike, here I can add the screen shot. trid all variations, placing eu-central-1 or eu-south-1 on top of the list but no success, when those regions are on top FZ can't even connect to my account. The only way is to leave us-east-1 on top to connect to the account, retrieve the bucket's list but no way to see inside any of them, or do any action. Thank you for your help. FZ-S3_Setting

FZ is still showing the error, moving the eu-central or south region to teh top of the list us suggested is not working, actually it dosen't even aloud to log into the account. Have to leave the us-east region on top to log in and dsipaly the bucket list, still no way to see into ANY of the buckets. Is this a so particular configuration?

A just suggested from FZ support , following the issue as it has been identified by FZ:
