AWS Service for Microsoft Defender

0

Is there an AWS service that offers running Microsoft Defender on Linux EC2 instances? Our search ended that we have to install Microsoft Defender in the Linux machines and have connectivity to Microsoft Defender (given the proper permissions) to scan the machines. We thought that there might be a better way in AWS to run Microsoft Defender like having a service.

Hi

there's no dedicated AWS service that runs and manages Microsoft Defender for you at a service level.

Methods to Help you:

AWS Systems Manager: Use AWS Systems Manager to manage updates and configuration of Microsoft Defender agents across your fleet of EC2 instances. Custom Scripting: Utilize infrastructure provisioning tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) to automate the installation and configuration of Microsoft Defender during instance creation.

Note: You'll still need to handle licensing for Microsoft Defender directly with Microsoft, regardless of running it on AWS.

If you are intrested, You can use the similar tools in AWS like Security Hub, gaurdDuty and Inspector
