Hello ,

Thank you for posting your question on the AWS Repost, my name is Rochak and it will be a pleasure assisting you with this today.

I understand you want to disable consolidated billing and be able to transfer billing to another vendor. Please, let me know if my understanding is incorrect.

There is not a direct option to disable consolidated billing for a linked account within AWS Organizations. When you enable consolidated billing in AWS Organizations, all linked accounts are automatically included in the consolidated billing family.

If you want to manage billing separately for a specific account within your AWS Organizations setup, you would need to remove the account from the organization. However, this will also remove some of the management and governance benefits that AWS Organizations provides.

Here are the steps to remove a member account from an organization's consolidated bill in AWS Organizations [1]. Here is also the video tutorial on these steps [2].

I hope this helps. If you need further info, let me know in the comments; otherwise I'd appreciate if you mark my answer as "accepted".

Kind regards, Rochak from AWS

  • It's a real shame AWS gives no other option then have everything in the organization billed centralized or have billing settings for every single account. The consolidated billing feature is not really helpful for large organizations...
