Update on Multi-GPU Support?

0

Hello, I understand that Lumberyard will be getting Directx12 support, but I would be grateful to know how well that will support multi-gpus, or if we can request more direct multi-gpu support?

In short, we're 100% focused on cloud gaming and want to design our game to leverage Amazon's G2 instances, specifically the 8xlarge instance. This instance has 4 GPUs, but most game engines cannot leverage them. We just tested Ark: Survival Evolved in both G2 instances, and the performance was about the same (Unreal 4 does not support SLI or multi-gpu). Multi-gpu support is scheduled to come to CryEngine in April, but given their current budget issues, may not actually happen.

Thank you for your time and consideration!

Kinda important to me as well. I would like to have multiple GPU supported for VR projects. VR is kinda resource heavy and we need as many resources to develop with :)

Thank you! We've just contacted RealtimeUK, the company that made the "Lost" Lumberyard demo, to inquire about making a Dragonpunk demo. This demo would highlight the capabilities of Cloud Gaming on AWS. The only catch is that they'll need multi-gpu support to leverage the 4 gpu's in the large G2 instance.

Just read this article and got excited, but it unfortunately didn't provide a date for multi-GPU support. http://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-talks-dx12-including-gameworks-support/

I'm also interested in this. We switched from Unreal to Unity because of the Nvidia VRworks support with native SLI capability. We'd love to transition to Lumberyard, but for the work we're doing it's make or break to us to have SLI support. Either Nvidia VRworks, DX12 with multi-gpu support included, or native multi-gpu support needs to be implemented.
