To find an existing AWS account that might be on pause, follow these steps:

  • Contact AWS Support: If you received communication from AWS Support mentioning that your existing account is on pause, reach out to them for further clarification. They can provide details about the account status and assist you in resolving any issues.
  • Check Your Email Inbox: Search your email inbox for any communications from AWS regarding account status, billing, or account suspension. AWS often sends notifications to account owners regarding important updates or actions required.
  • Check AWS Organizations: If your organization uses AWS Organizations to manage multiple AWS accounts, check the organization's management console. You may find information about the paused account there, including its name, ID, or associated email address.
  • Review Billing Statements: Review your AWS billing statements for any charges or usage associated with the paused account. This can help identify the account by its billing information.
  • Contact AWS Billing Support: If you're unable to locate the paused account using the above methods, contact AWS Billing Support for assistance. They can help identify the account based on billing information and provide guidance on resolving any account-related issues.
