I understand your concern about the unexpected bill you've received from AWS. As a student using AWS for the first time, it's important to be aware that while AWS offers some free tier services, many services do incur costs even during the initial usage period.

Unfortunately, AWS does not automatically waive charges just because you are a student or a first-time user. You are responsible for the costs incurred by the resources you've used. However, there are a few steps you can take:

  1. Immediately delete all resources you've created to prevent further charges.

  2. Use the Cost Explorer in the Billing and Cost Management console to identify which specific resources incurred the costs.

  3. Contact AWS Support directly through the AWS Support Center. Choose the "Account and Billing Support" category when creating your case. Explain your situation as a student, provide any relevant documentation, and request assistance with the billing issue.

  4. Consider signing up for a student account, which may provide some free credits to help offset costs.

For future use, always check the pricing of services before using them and consider setting up budget alerts to notify you when your usage approaches a certain threshold. This can help prevent unexpected charges.

Remember, even if you deactivate your account now, you would still be responsible for any charges already incurred. It's best to address this with AWS Support directly to explore your options.
