Error saving: Cannot modify a default parameter group.

I am trying to modify the default parameter group "default.aurora5.6" for my cluster on N.CALIFORNIA region, especially "binlog_format". The value is currently set to "OFF" and I want to set it to value "MIXED". When I set it to "MIXED" and click "SAVE CHANGES" I get the following error:  
  
"_Error saving: Cannot modify a default parameter group. (Service: AmazonRDS; Status Code: 400; Error Code: InvalidParameterValue; Request ID: 758f6240-e1d6-40bd-8b5b-3d7ec6d88e1c)_"

You can't modify the default parameter group, you need to create a custom parameter group, make the parameter changes, then modify the instance to use the new parameter group.  See:.
