I've only encountered the same error when I tried to initiate drill/recovery of a Windows OS source server with BYOL option selected in Launch Settings > OS Licensing. Changing the setting to License Included solved the issue for me. Hope this helps.
The reason was documented already: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/drs/latest/userguide/launch-general-settings.html#os-licensing
Important:
If you enable BYOL licensing for Windows, you have to change the Placement.tenancy type in the EC2 launch template to Host. Otherwise, instance launch will fail.
After running the initiate drill from DRS console for a Linux server, I'm getting below error: "No file system can mount Root", "Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)"
Can you please suggest the possible solution here? @AWS
