Route53 transfer domain error [Only ASCII characters are allowed]

0

Hi, I am trying to transfer my top level domain from godaddy to AWS route53 and getting error Only ASCII characters are allowed. My DNS name is plain English's character's not sure why it is failing with error for ASCII characters. I attempted twice and both time same error and my credit card was charged for the failed transfer request.

Please suggest, if I am doing anything wrong.

Thanks, Ankit

I’ve a feeling someone has reported this before and it turned out to be one of the contacts details on the domain record.

I’d check that first and update any invalid characters

Have you been charged twice by AWS or by GoDaddy?

I remember the previous question that @Gary mentions, but I cant find it when I search for it. But it was something to do with a name having a non-ASCII character(s) in it.

As this is now costing you money you may want to raise a support call with AWS as a domain transfer issue https://docs.aws.amazon.com/Route53/latest/DeveloperGuide/domain-contact-support.html

AWS provides a Basic support plan, free of charge, for all AWS customers. The plan includes assistance for the following issues related to domain registration:

  • Transferring domains to or from Amazon Route 53
