I understand your concern about not seeing the $300 credit in your AWS account despite receiving a welcome email mentioning it. This situation is not uncommon, and there are a few steps you can take to address it:
-
First, it's important to note that it can take up to 24 hours for credits to appear in your account after they've been applied.
-
To check if the credits have been applied, you should look in the Billing and Cost Management console. Here's how:
- Sign in to the AWS Management Console
- Open the AWS Billing console
- In the navigation pane, choose "Bills"
- Look for "Total Discounts" under the "Credits, Total Discounts and Tax Invoices" section
-
If you still don't see the credits, you can try viewing them in Cost Explorer:
- Open Cost Explorer
- Go to Reports
- Use the existing "Monthly cost by service" report
- In the right menu options, select Dimension = Cost Category
- Then select Charge Type = Credit
If after these steps you still can't locate your credits, it's advisable to contact AWS Support. They can help verify if the credits were indeed applied to your account and assist you further if there are any issues.
Remember, AWS credits are automatically applied to eligible services, so you don't need to take any additional action to use them once they're in your account. However, they can only be used for future charges and won't apply to usage before the credit was added to your account.
If you have multiple AWS accounts, double-check that you're logged into the correct account where the credits were supposed to be applied.
