What business type should I choose in KYC for a single member LLC

I am trying to do KYC on this site: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/management/seller-settings/mario/verification/awsmp-kyc/regional/node/agreement/render one of the questions it asks is to select the business type. In my case I am a single member LLC. Should I choose sole proprieter or privately owned business keeping future in mind?

For a single member LLC completing the Know Your Customer (KYC) process on AWS Marketplace, you should choose "Privately owned business" as your business type rather than "Sole proprietor."

While a single member LLC can be treated as a sole proprietorship for tax purposes in some jurisdictions, it is still a distinct legal entity separate from its owner. Choosing "Privately owned business" more accurately reflects the legal structure of your LLC and provides a better representation of your business to AWS and potential customers.

Selecting "Privately owned business" is also a more forward-thinking choice. If you plan to expand your LLC in the future, add members, or scale your operations, this classification will remain accurate and won't require updates to your KYC information.

It's important to provide accurate information during the KYC process, as this verification is crucial for receiving disbursements and providing a localized experience for customers, especially in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region. Accurate information ensures proper tax handling and invoicing for your business on AWS Marketplace.

If you're unsure about any part of the KYC process or need clarification on specific requirements, you can always reach out to AWS Marketplace support for guidance. They can provide more detailed information tailored to your specific business situation.
