When will APEX 21.2 or 22.1 be available in RDS Oracle?

When will APEX 21.2 or 22.1 be available in RDS Oracle?

Are there now permanent hinderances to Apex on RDS Oracle that I should be looking at alternatives for Apex development? Is it a specific feature that is problematic? I understand the strengths of RDS Oracle, but if one of the weaknesses is now going to be that Apex versioning is so far behind then I will have to make other accommodations. Previously, for example, Apex 21.1 was available in RDS 5 months after it was available for download from Oracle. It's now 10 months since Apex 21.2 has been released and no word on when this will be available.

Thank you,

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your question.

According to the documentation, the latest APEX version that we are supporting is 21.1. I would like you to inform that currently our RDS engineering team is working on providing support to newly released APEX versions which are 21.2 and 22.1.

I request you to monitor the below link, as the below link will be updated once the new APEX version is released.

  • This would be great, do you have a time line? A lot of people are moving to OCI because it takes AWS so long to make the latest version of APEX available.

  • I already have it in my testing environment.

  • Good to know @aws-dba !

  • That is great. The problem is 22.2 is out now. AWS is still two versions behind the latest version making it difficult to choose AWS over Oracle OCI. If you could upgrade within 3 months of Oracle releasing the latest version, that would be ideal.
