ec2 instance issues after yum update

I made a sudo yum update on my ec2 instance . After that the ec2 seems very slow. Even a ls command takes seconds to complete. I tried to stop instance to restart it. But now i can't start it because it is still stoppingstoping

What should i do to solve the issue?

Check the status check host status and instance status there, In case if you have any AMI/Snapshot then rebuild the EC2.

Try to check the EBS volumes attached to the instance if they are healthy.
