Hi
We might need more context in such case as based on current information my understanding of the issue is that you upgraded Aurora Serverless 5.6 to Aurora Serverless 5.7 and application is taking longer to come up? (Correct me if this is wrong understanding)
- Does above indicate that application won't be able to connect to the Aurora Serverless 5.7 after the major version upgrade?
- Or it is able to connect but performs bad?
Regarding to question "is there any way to speed up the database process to allow the application to cache all the data from the DB to memory and start the application"
- This makes me feel there is a performance issue not a connection issue?
- You want to know if there is a way to pre load the data into the memory (innodb_buffer_pool?) from the "volume"/"disk" (Aurora Serverless using different volume design). Since innodb cache warming does not apply to Aurora, are you referring to Survivable page cache? [+] https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/AuroraUserGuide/Aurora.Overview.StorageReliability.html#Aurora.Overview.CacheWarming
- However survivable page cache is designed to have faster bootup when in the unlikely event of a database failure.
Suggestions:
- I would suggest to post more details regarding to the issue in the community.
- If you have support plan can also raise a support case with us.
