Multiple Labels for the Same Object

Question

Hello,  
  
For a model that has two different classes, rust and scratches, and there happened to be a rusty scratch, would it confuse the model to annotate the same spot with both classes?

What API or feature is this referring to? Is the label referring to Rekognition Custom Labels?

Our models are capable of handling the situation of multiple labels being assigned to the same region where multiple labels apply. As a practical matter, for your example, ideally the region would be a good example of both labels, i.e. it looks like rust, and looks like scratches, when considered separately. In that case the model should learn the relevant information for both. It would depend on your data though.
