Can I transcode H.265 MP4's to H.264 MP4's using The Amazon Elastic Transcoder?

Hello,

I need to transcode a few hundred H.265 MP4's to H.264 MP4's, and I was wondering if The Amazon Elastic Transcoder can do that. I couldn't find any documentation that specifically states that.

Thanks,

Jonathan

according to the article

https://aws.amazon.com/elastictranscoder/faqs/

Amazon Elastic Transcoder does not support H.265. This means that if you have media files encoded in H.265, you cannot use Elastic Transcoder to transcode them into H.264. Amazon Elastic Transcoder supports the following input formats: MP4, MOV, and MPEG-2. These formats may contain H.264, MPEG-2, or Apple ProRes codecs.

but AWS Elemental MediaConvert support H.265

  • Thank you for your response, but you are incorrect. I was able to successfully transcode a H.265 encoded movie into H.264 using Amazon Elastic Encoder in a test. Please spread the word.

    Thanks,
