AppStream2 - My Files multiple file download is not working with popup blocker

0

Most browsers today are per default blocking popup windows. This makes the File Browser (My Files) in AppStream2 fail to download multiple files.

  1. When trying to download multiple files, only the first file is downloaded, see Image 1 below. In this example I try to download 3 files.
  2. Once the first file is downloaded, a new message is shown behind the MyFiles modal. It is vaguely visible in the background of Image 2. This is extremely hard to notice for the end user. This message provides a link to download the rest of the files, and states Your file is ready. Pop-up windows are turned off. Click here to download your file.
  3. Once the My Files modal is closed, the message about downloading the rest of the files gets more visible, see Image 3.
  4. When pressing the link in the new message, the second file is downloaded. The message stays and pressing the link again does not download the third file, but just the second file over and over again.
  5. The third file cannot be downloaded.

It is not good practise to assume that user has popup windows allowed in order for a webpage to work. Even if the user experience without popup windows allowed could be degraded and not as smooth, it must till work and be some what clear to the user how to act in order for the web page to do what is claims to do, in this case download multiple files.
