Unsubscribe from VPN tunnel emails

0

Hi,

We often receive emails notifying that one of two tunnels of a VPN connection has been replaced. Is it possible to unsubscribe from these emails?

We have the Basic Support Plan. After opening a case, I was asked to ask the question here.

An example of the email is:

You're receiving this message because your VPN Connection vpn-aaaabbb in the eu-west-1 Region had a momentary lapse of redundancy as one of two tunnel endpoints (Tunnel Outside IP: y.y.y.y) was replaced. Connectivity on the second tunnel was not affected during this time. Both tunnels are now operating normally.

Replacements can occur for several reasons, and be initiated either by AWS or when you modify your VPN Connection [1]. AWS-initiated replacement reasons include health, software upgrades, and when underlying hardware is retired.

This replacement was AWS Initiated.

Thanks for your help,

John

Hello John,

Let me help you with this query, so there are two types of notifications as follows:

  1. Tunnel endpoint replacement notifications
  2. Single tunnel VPN notifications

To unsubscribe from these notifications, you need to reach out to the AWS VPN support team. As of now, only the support team can get it unsubscribed.

More details why these notifications are sent: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vpn/latest/s2svpn/monitoring-vpn-health-events.html

  • Thanks for the informative reply, Narinder.

Am I correct in thinking that a paid-for support plan is required to unsubscribe from these emails?

  • That's correct paid support plan is required.
