Linux ACL support beyond just POSIX security?

Lustre in the open source version supports Linux ACL but the AWS version it is disabled. It shows up in the file/folder meta but is not enforced. I've heard its in the priority backlog targeting last year but have not seen any updates in a while. Does anyone know if there is a roadmap for when it will be supported by AWS? I have several clients this solution would be perfect for if was supported. The use of the S3 data repository makes this the ideal solution if it had ACL support.
