AWS RDS Aurora Ability to Change log_line_prefix or add %a To Default To Log Application

0

Hi,

I would like to request that %a is added to the log_line_prefix default in the amazon aurora parameter group setting. The current default is: "%t:%r:%u@%d:[%p]:t". We need this is order to help identify easily where our connection is orginating from. This is to enable better log filtering and metrics via CloudWatch logs for a given application.

Dear Customer,

Thanks for reaching out to AWS re:Post. First of all, I would like to apologize for the delay in response to this post. I appreciate your feedback and I have passed it along to the internal team and they will be evaluating it. As you are already aware, RDS is a managed service and certain restrictions do apply to maintain the managed service model architecture. But we highly appreciate your feedback - this makes us better and helps us to serve our customers in a much more efficient way.

However, at this time we would not be able to share an ETA on the feature request since AWS has its own timelines as we have go through software development lifecycle which includes development and rigorous testing before it can be released to the customers to ensure best customer experience. I would request you to keep an eye on the links below for updates to the service.
