so I KNOW I am entering the correct credentials to aws console for root login but it's telling me this

here was an error An AWS account with that sign-in information does not exist. Try again or create a new account.

I can still use a terminal to ssh into the instance so the key pair in the pem is fine. I can't get into console to create a case. What do I do please? I am VERY new to Aws

  • These are 2 different websites! repost and AWS console are not same and doesn't necessarily have same login.

  • thank you shajam for taking the time. I know they are two different logins. I was temporarily unable to login to the aws console for a few hours. I don't know why.

I understand your frustration with this situation. It's concerning that you're unable to sign into the AWS Management Console despite being able to use other AWS services. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

  1. Double-check your credentials: Ensure you're entering the correct email address and password for your root account. Even a small typo can cause login issues.

  2. Clear your browser cache and cookies: Sometimes, browser-related issues can interfere with the login process. Try clearing your cache and cookies, or use a different browser or an incognito/private browsing window.

  3. Verify your account status: Although your services are still running, there might be an issue with your account status. Check if you've received any emails from AWS regarding account changes or potential security issues.

  4. Password reset: If you're certain about your email but unsure about the password, try resetting it. Go to the AWS sign-in page and click on "Forgot password?" to initiate the process.

  5. Check for typos in the sign-in URL: Make sure you're using the correct URL for AWS Console login (https://console.aws.amazon.com/).

  6. Time and date settings: Ensure your computer's date and time settings are correct, as authentication can be sensitive to time discrepancies.

If none of these steps work, you may need to contact AWS Support directly. Since you can't access the console to create a support case, you can try these alternatives:

  1. Use the AWS Support Center: Go to https://aws.amazon.com/support and look for options to contact support without logging in.

  2. Contact AWS via phone: Look up the AWS support phone number for your region and explain your situation to them directly.

  3. Use AWS's account recovery process: Visit https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/recover-aws-password/ for guidance on account recovery.

When contacting support, be prepared to verify your identity and ownership of the account. You may need to provide information such as the email associated with the account, billing details, and any other relevant account information to prove your identity.

Remember, it's crucial to keep your root account credentials secure. Once you regain access, consider setting up IAM users for day-to-day tasks and enabling multi-factor authentication (MFA) for added security.
