Access to public ECR from EKS pods

Looking at https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonECR/latest/userguide/ECR_on_EKS.html it is not clear whether the AWS PrivateLink allows access from a private EKS cluster (no public access) only to private ECR repositories or does it also allow access to the account's public ECR?

Private ECR only. There is open feature request for ECR Public to support PrivateLink https://github.com/aws/containers-roadmap/issues/1160
