Account name changes are not reflected in Cost Explorer


I am using AWS Organizations. In the past I have changed the names of some of the accounts in my organization, but I have noticed that those changes are not reflected in the Linked Account on Cost Explorer. (They are showing under the old names). How can I fix this?

AWS Cost Explorer uses Account Alias per defined in IAM. Follow this link for the exact instructions on how to update an account alias.

  • I have this same issue. I have three linked account in the same organization. I have renamed these over time, e.g. "Sandbox" became "Development". All the accounts have aliases but Cost Explorer still shows the original name, i.e. "Sandbox"?
