Amplify App quota reached - but why?

1

I have the standard 25 app limit in Amplify but only 5 apps. When trying to add Amplify to a new project (> amplify init) I receive an error, "You have reached the Amplify App limit for this account and region".

I understand that I can request an increase to the quota (or use a different region) but I am hoping someone could explain why the limit has been reached? Do deleted apps count towards the quota? Is each deployment counted?

Appreciate any advice.

Thanks, Richard

Reason could be that either your account is new or considered compromised and “soft blocked”.

If new, the new account might have lower quota. You can check the service quotas by the link (https://REGION.console.aws.amazon.com/servicequotas/home/services/amplify/quotas) to confirm the quotas and then issue a quota increase ticket which is/are adjustable. Reference: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/general/latest/gr/amplify.html#service-quotas-amplify

If not, raise a ticket to support.

I also had the standard 25 app limit in Amplify but only 5 apps. When trying to add a 6th Amplify project, I got the limit error as well.

I've had the account for quite a while, and nothing out of the ordinary.

I requested an increase from 25 to 30, it was approved immediately, and then I was able to add the 6th project.

Must be some sort of bug that there's a "hidden" default limit of 5 rather than 25?
