questions on migrating DNS to route 53

0

we have multiple sites we are migrating to route 53 this week. first question - we have set the TTL on the DNS provider we are moving FROM to a low number. is the next step adding the amazon DNS servers to the list of Nameserves on the site that manages our domains (name.com), or do we wait for the TTL to replicate down, and then remove the old and add amazon? any issues with having both, since they are pointing to the same IP addresses (IPs not changing)

secondly, when we had assistance setting up our domains on route 53, it looks like each domain has different DNS servers, is that normal? our current provider only had 4, so I guess amazon has so many you can spread them out?

In theory if everything is the same in both DNS providers, there shouldn't be an issue with the registar pointing to both sets of Name Servers; but I'm not sure there is a benefit that I can think of offhand. But there's no reason why it shouldn't work.

For Route 53, in my experieince they always create 4 unique ( or at least seemingly unique ) Name Servers for a given zone record. So that is normal as far as my experience goes:
