Why the tag TLS version is not included in events published from Simple Email Service?

1

I want to track which TLS version is used to send email via SES. I follow this article: https://aws.amazon.com/fr/blogs/messaging-and-targeting/analyzing-amazon-ses-event-data-with-aws-analytics-services/

In this documentation : https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/dg/monitor-using-event-publishing.html we can found the list of tags automatically added.

Everything is working, and I can see in S3 objects all of these tags (ses:caller-identity, ses:configuration-set, ses:from-domain, ses:outgoing-ip, ses:source-ip) except "ses:source-tls-version".

Any idea?

Hi Thierry,

The doc on the page that you point is very explicit: the tls tag should be here on all messages without any additional action / config from you. So, it looks to me like a bug. Especially as you see the other auto-tags.

In that case, you have to open a ticket via the AWS cloud console: service teams usually don't monitor re:Post for bug reports.

Best,

Didier

  • Unfortunately, I have only a "basic" support plan, and I can't open a technical ticket.
