0

Hi all,

I have recently moved my domain from square space into route53, I have added my type A record and assigned it my server address like I did before in squarespace, problem is after doing this my changes haven't propogation yet and it's been 12 hours since doing this

I know it can take up to 48 hours but I have never experience this, normally it is never more than an hour And I missing something since moving to route53?

  • Can you share the domain name?

You don't provide your domain name, so we cannot verify your delegation, however, what you describe suggests that you never updated the name server delegation set with your domain registrar (the place you originally purchased the domain).

If you provide your domain name - people on re:Post can be more helpful by testing your configuration.

When you move your domain i.e create a hosted zone for your domain in AWS, please note down AWS nameservers and go back to your original Domain provide, there you need to specify AWS name servers. Delete any "A" records created here previously. Assuming you have already created an "A" record at the AWS side, your domain resolution should start happening in a few hours.
