RDS console bug - instance type missing and drop down empty for existing instance

Has anyone else experienced an issue with the RDS console whereby it doesn't show the instance type for existing instances? Our instance type is "db.r5.xlarge" and it just shows a blank dropdownlist with no values and you are unable to save any changes to of the instance settings as the instance type is a required field and can't by empty

Thanks for reaching out to AWS via re:Post.

Regarding your query, we have seen such issues when the engine version is no longer supported or deprecated - Once a version has been deprecated, there is a "slow phase-out process" which takes place and this typically affects the Management Console first.

As a workaround, I can suggest to try the modification via CLI.
