Is anyone having success with using Apple's Passkey for Console MFA?

I tried to add a Passkey (authentication through FaceID or TouchID in Safari) to my AWS Account. Safari does kick off the setup flow correctly but when I scan the presented QR code with my iPhone as directed, it fails with an unknown error: Error registering security key. There is no detail about what went wrong unfortunately.

It is not entirely clear if this is supported. From a technical perspective it should not be different than how a hardware key is setup I think?

Has anyone had success with this?
