ec2 instance is unable to ping google.com

Question

i have an instance in public subnet , with routes pointing to igw , we have outbound rules open as well. we cannot ping to any public ip's & traceroute gies nowhere!

[ec2-user@ip- ~]$ traceroute google.com

If you have ensure that the instance in question has a public IP address, is in a public subnet, and in a subnet with a default route via IGW, I would recommend reviewing this [post](https://repost.aws/knowledge-center/ec2-connect-internet-gateway) to troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Thanks Abhi, i figured the instance did not have a EIP or public ip , afetr adding one , we are able to communicate.
