Can't connect EBS volume to new EC2 instance

0

EC2 instance (Ubuntu 20.04 LTS) and EBS volume are both in us-east-1a. When attempting to attach EBS volume to the instance, I get this message: "The instance configuration for this AWS Marketplace product is not supported. Please see the AWS Marketplace site for more information about supported instance types, regions, and operating systems." How do I fix this?

The instance created from Marketplace AMI which require instance state was stopped before attaching/detaching an EBS volume. You may try to stop instance first, then attach volume again. Please refer link below.

Attach an Amazon EBS volume to an instance

If a volume has an AWS Marketplace product code:
* You can attach a volume only to a stopped instance.
