Automate pulling EC2 OS information

What's the best way to pull EC2 OS/Platform information? Couldn't get it to work with config query, but is there a different way? This would need to work in GovCloud accounts.

Hello.

How about managing it with Systems Manager Inventory?
It is necessary to install SSM Agent on EC2 and register it as a managed instance in Systems Manager, but if it is a registered instance, it is possible to obtain OS information, etc.
