Configure Local DID Matching for Outbound Campaign Caller ID

0

I want to set up an outbound campaign using a local DID. For example, if the customer's phone number starts with +1833, the number displayed on their phone should also start with +1833.

I have already configured this setup for local DIDs, and it's working correctly for outbound calling.

Now, I want to enable this behavior for my outbound campaigns as well. The goal is to ensure that the caller ID matches the customer's area code or prefix.

I think that I understand that you want to implement dynamic caller ID matching for outbound campaigns based on the customer's phone number prefix. Here's how you can approach this:

  1. First, ensure you have a pool of DIDs available that cover the different area codes/prefixes you need to match.

  2. For Amazon Connect campaigns, you can handle this through:

    • Contact flows
    • Lambda functions
    • Amazon Connect API

Here's a suggested implementation:

1. Create a Lambda function that:
   - Receives the customer's phone number
   - Extracts the prefix/area code
   - Queries your DID pool to find a matching number
   - Returns the appropriate caller ID

2. In your outbound campaign setup:
   - Configure the contact flow to invoke the Lambda function
   - Use the returned caller ID for the outbound call

Key considerations:

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations regarding caller ID usage
  • Maintain sufficient DIDs in your pool for each prefix
  • Monitor DID availability and usage
  • Consider fallback options if a matching DID isn't available
