Unable to log in to AWS account using IAM Identity Center (SSO) – account access suddenly stopped

1

Today, when I try to log in to my AWS account, I receive an error (screenshot attached). Yesterday, everything was working fine.

I am the administrator of this AWS account, and currently no one is able to log in. We are using AWS IAM Identity Center (AWS SSO) for authentication.

There were no intentional changes made to the account, permissions, or Identity Center configuration before this issue started.

Has anyone experienced this issue before, or can you help identify:

What could cause AWS SSO / IAM Identity Center login to suddenly fail?

How an administrator can regain access to the account?

Any recommended troubleshooting steps?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The login fails with an error saying “Try again in some time,” but despite multiple attempts at different intervals, the issue persists.

Are you using built in identity or a 3rd party aug as entra? Ensure 3rd party saml/app is still valid

Hi Dixit,

Log in with your root account credentials, verify the status of the AWS Identity Center identity source, and confirm whether it is connected to your on‑premises Active Directory through AD Connector. Check the connectivity, and if any issues persist, create a support ticket for immediate assistance.

Yes, I logged in using the root account and checked the configuration. There is no IAM Identity Center configured in the account. I also checked the CloudTrail logs, but there is no activity related to IAM Identity Center. I’m not sure how this happened suddenly, as it was working fine the day before. I am currently checking this issue with the support team.
