FSx for Windows and Active Directory

HI, we need to use AWS FSx with Active Directory on-prem. We have on-premises synchronization of read-only Active Directory with Active Directory in Azure. Is there any possibility to connect FSX to Active Directory on-prem without establishing a lan-to-lan vpn tunnel? Could the AWS AD Connector service solve this problem?

Hi THere

Amazon FSx does not support Active Directory Connector and Simple Active Directory. See https://docs.aws.amazon.com/fsx/latest/WindowsGuide/aws-ad-integration-fsxW.html

You will need some sort of connectivity to your AD because FSx needs to be joined to the domain and requires a number of ports for this to work. Why is a vpn tunnel not an option?
