Does migrating bundle to a lower space disk work?

0

We have a couple of users who temporarily needed more user space

Now they don't need it and want to save the money - but they need to keep the data they do have too.

Before I try and rebuild or migrate to another bundle I was hoping someone might be able to confirm which actions do reset the user volume space, or if there is another way to achieve the same?

Hello.

Although it is possible to increase the volume size using operations from the management console, it is not possible to reduce the volume size after startup.
Therefore, I think you need to back up the necessary data to another storage (for example, FSx or S3) and then recreate Amazon Workspaces.

You can't decrease the size of root and user volumes after the WorkSpace is launched.

  • Isn't that what happens as part of the rebuild/migrate workflows?

Or is that just literally removing and re-adding the same disk snapshot from the existing device?
