Hi,
If Amazon Route 53 does not support TLDs, there is no solution other than not using Amazon Route 53 as a registrar for domains.
However, it might be easier to create a hosted zone on Amazon Route 53 first and put the nameservers when you register your domain. Like your domain by another registrar but DNS service by Amazon Route 53.

Thanks for your answer.
I have created a hosted zone in Amazon Route 53 and added the NS records from where the domain is registered (101Domains):
NS1.101DOMAIN.COM NS2.101DOMAIN.COM
I then created an A record in Route 53 that points at the intended AWS resource.
However when I go to the domain however I'm still getting a "DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN" error.
Is there anything I'm still doing wrong?
