I answered the same question below, but the free tier will be automatically assigned to you for one year after you create an AWS account.
You don't need to activate anything, and your AWS account is automatically assigned a 1-year free tier.
In other words, if you use a service that is eligible for the free tier, the free tier will be consumed.

I'm creating a PostgreSQL server and I'm not sure if I get charged or not.
In the case of RDS, if you use the settings shown in the image below, you will be in the free tier.
Also, if you select "Free tier" at RDS startup, the settings for the free tier will be automatically selected.
I chose Aurora(PostgreSQL) and I didn't get the free tier option. Now I got it. Thank you.
