I resolved it. What I found is that in the domain hosting service, I had 2 MX records (as displayed in the image), 1 created by them, and the other created by me following AWS steps, so there was a conflict, I dropped the one created by my hosting service and now I'm able to receive and send emails from workmail, no further problems I found, so will be testing the functionality now, hope this can help someone.
