Amazon Connect China Region Support

-3

Is Amazon Connect now available in the China Region including the inbound and outbound both? Do we have customer facing artifacts or timelines when this will be fully available?

Amazon Connect is not currently available in the China Region. Based on the available information, Amazon Connect is available in multiple AWS Regions globally, including US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Africa (Cape Town), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), and AWS GovCloud (US-West), but the China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia) Regions are not listed among the supported regions for Amazon Connect.

However, there are specific considerations for calling Chinese telephone numbers from Amazon Connect instances in other regions. For outbound calling to China, Amazon Connect has implemented additional requirements that customers must comply with, including eligibility criteria and detailed information requirements. Chinese carriers have been increasingly blocking international routes into China, and Amazon Connect requires all customers approved to call China to follow specific conditions as of October 14, 2023.

I do not have information about customer-facing artifacts or specific timelines for when Amazon Connect will be fully available in the China Region for both inbound and outbound calling.

As noted in the outbound calling requirements above, Chinese carriers enforce strict compliance standards. For a step-by-step guide on implementing these requirements in your Amazon Connect instance, including contact flow configurations for rate limiting, number validation using AWS End User Messaging, and CloudWatch monitoring for compliance alerts, see: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/contact-center/amazon-connect-china-calling-compliance-best-practices/
