Changing domains/Workmail Forwarding

0

Hi,

I am phasing out an old workmail email and moving to a new Workmail email @ a different domain. I have 2 questions I am having trouble with:

  1. How do I create a rule that duplicates any email sent to the old address and sends a copy to the new address? Does this need to be done in workmail or within my MX records?

  2. Is there a way for me to copy all the folders/subfolders (including their contents) I have created to my new workmail? Or even better to the Microsoft Outlook Program??

Thank you for your help in advance.

Hi Brett,

To forward messages from one organization to another you can use mailbox rules. You have two options, a redirect to preserve the original sender or a forward. There is a limitation on the redirect! When the sender has configured SFP WorkMail cannot redirect the message as this will cause the SPF check to fail on the recipient side.

For the migration of you folders, if you have Windows Outlook you can export you entire mailbox to a PST file and import that in the new mailbox.

Kind regards,
Robin

Hi Brett,

Please look at this Microsoft documentation page for instruction for your Outlook version:
https://support.office.com/en-us/article/export-or-backup-email-contacts-and-calendar-to-an-outlook-pst-file-14252b52-3075-4e9b-be4e-ff9ef1068f91

This page also contains instructions on how to import the pst again.

Kind regards,
Robin
